Halloween was a blast! I enjoyed seeing everyone in their costumes. My niece Amelia dressed as Rumi from K-Pop Demon Hunters!

Looking toward November, and the rest of the year, it’s hard to believe I started in June. I feel like I’m hitting my stride, which is made easier by patrons who are patient when I make mistakes, who show up when we try new things, who tell their friends and family that the library is a nice place to be.

In this season of appreciation, I do want you to know I have noticed and I appreciate the warm reception I’ve gotten stepping into this role. It’s given me the ability to spend more time with my family and work more closely with the community I call home. While I consider myself an articulate individual, and indeed in the trade of words, I find myself short of them trying to express what it means to step into the unknown and land in safety.

I hope 2026 will bring more consistency on my end. I know anyone reading this can relate to figuring out how to juggle the many plates life demands us to spin. My husband Dakota always reminds me that failing is a good indication that you’re trying your best, and it’s merely a step in the process instead of a consequence for doing something wrong. I believe in learning through imagination– through art, music, stories; and I dearly appreciate the opportunity to thrive in an environment built on just that.
